Galatians 3:1-14

Paul appeals to the conversion experience of the Galatians and to Scripture to convince then to dismiss the lies of the false teachers.

The OT example of Abraham teaches that it is through genuine faith, not the law, that one is counted righteous. Any attempt to be justified by the law leads to a curse, for righteousness comes only by faith in the atoning work of Jesus Christ. All those indwelt by the Holy Spirit enjoy the blessing of Abraham.

1 O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? It was before your eyes that Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified.
